American College of Rheumatology. Research and Education Foundation (REF)
The largest private funding source of rheumatology research and training in the U.S., the REF offers an extensive awards program with research and education opportunities for clinicians, students, health professionals, researchers and academic institutions. These awards are an integral part of REF efforts to ensure the future of rheumatology.
The purpose of the ARTICULUM Fellowship is to provide opportunities for young Fellows from any country with an interest in arthritis and pain to conduct a research project. Application is open to fellows from rheumatology and orthopaedic centres from any country for a duration of up to 9 months at a center with an ARTICULUM member. The next deadline is on July 31st 2013
The Assessment of Spondyloarthritis International Society (www.asas-group.org) offers up to 3 fellowships per year to young physicians preferably rheumatologists (in training) with an interest in spondyloarthritis for a duration of 3-6 months at a center with a full ASAS member (Next deadline: 1 April 2013)
Asian Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology (APLAR) Fellowships and awards
This APLAR awards four fellowships each year to science and medical graduates from APLAR member societies of developing countries. The grant is intended to assist graduates to undertake intensive or advanced study in the research or clinical aspects of either adult or paediatric rheumatology in a rheumatic disease unit in any country within (preferable) or outside the Asia Pacific area for a minimum period of six months.
EULAR Abstract award
EULAR bestows 12 Abstract Awards to the first authors of 6 clinical and 6 basic science abstracts that are submitted to the EULAR Annual European Congress. Winners are selected by the EULAR Scientific Programme Committee based on the quality of the abstracts' scientific content. In addition, from 2012 onwards, EULAR will grant 3 awards for submitted abstracts by undergraduates as first authors and 3 awards for submitted abstracts by health professionals as first authors.
The aim of the Osteoarthritis Research Society International (OARSI) Scholarship is to provide enriched international and national exchange that will foster the acquisition of skills in specialized scientific methodologies, knowledge translation, and dissemination of research. The scholarship will also provide educational, networking and partnership opportunities. Scholarship Amount: Multiple scholarships of $6500 (US) each.
