Terms and conditions of registration

This privacy policy sets out how EMEUNET uses and protects any information that you give EMEUNET when you use this website. EMEUNET is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. You can be assured that your personal information will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement. EMEUNET may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from 1 January 2012.
Filling in the registration form is mandatory to become a member of EMEUNET. Failure to provide personal data requested or non-acceptance of these terms and conditions implies the impossibility to become an EMEUNET member. People above 40 cannot register to EMEUNET. Registered members who reach the age of 40 will still have access to content available to people below 40

What we collect

We collect the following information: date of registration, name, year of birth, nationality, contact email, main diplomas, current position and hospital/university, 1-5 keywords representing areas of research/interest. You will also have the optional choice to upload a photo, selected publications and/or your CV in PDF format during registration or anytime later when editing your personal information. 

What we do with the information we gather

We will use this information to establish a platform for wider communication between young rheumatologists and researchers in rheumatology (please read our mission statement for more information). The database where the information is stored is property of EMEUNET. This information will be used for internal record keeping and will be available to all Registered Members. We do not control how this information is used by Registered Members. Only your name and country of origin will be available to regular website visitors, displayed as EMEUNET Member. Upon request from EULAR, EMEUNET may provide data relating to registered members. From time to time, we may also use your information to contact you for EMEUNET surveys, sending newsletters, and educational or research initiatives.

Security

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Controlling your personal information

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties (except EULAR, as stated above), unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so. By registering to EMEUNET you also agree not to sell, distribute or lease personal information from other registered users to third parties. You can edit your own information at any time by logging in with your username and secured password. You may also unregister at any time after logging in with your username and secured password. All data excluding previous answers to surveys will be deleted when unregistering.
