MEET THE PROFESSOR: The mentor-mentee meeting at ACR San Diego 2017
Would you like to discuss your research and future career with a leader in the field in an informal way? Sign up for the mentor-mentees meetings at ACR in San Diego 2017.
The meetings, organised by the Peer Mentoring Subgroup, will last approximately 60 min. There won't be any formal presentations at this meeting and it is only organized to give you a chance to have a friendly chat with leaders in your area of research and discuss your career plans. The number of mentees will be 4-6 for each group.
These meetings will be held on Tuesday, November 7th from 09:00 to 10:00 am. The meeting place information will be announced later.
This year we introduced a change to give you the opportunity to see a different perspective other than European vision; we have invited a mentor from the United States.
Here are the 3 Professors whom we welcome as mentors in San Diego (check their CVs here):
Prof. Tom Huizinga (Leiden University Medical Center / Netherlands): Translational research in rheumatoid arthritis, clinical research in neuro-psychiatric SLE.
Prof. Yusuf Yazici (New York University School of Medicine / United States): Rheumatoid arthritis, early arthritis; patient-reported outcomes, database and registry management and Behcet’s syndrome.
Prof. Xenofon Baraliakos (Ruhr-University Bochum /Germany): Axial spondyloarthritis, especially on the description of the disease processes, its natural course, the efficacy and safety of therapeutic interventions and on the imaging of the disease.
